Without a doubt, this was one of the most challenging photoshoots I’ve ever done. To say the least, I bit off quite a lot when deciding to go through with this shoot. Angel’s Rest is an amazing viewpoint in the Columbia River Gorge and figured it would be an amazing spot for a yoga shoot (I wasn’t wrong there). However, I underestimated how difficult it would be to get there while carrying about 50 lbs of camera gear. Allison (my model for the shoot) was an absolute rock star and basically dragged me up the trail. When we got to the location though I knew the final images would be worth all the effort.
After taking a few minutes to catch my breathe I set up my gear which included pulling out my Phase One IQ140 for the first time. We found a perfect little platform that elevated Allison above most of the rocks and gave an absolutely amazing view of the Columbia River below. We didn’t have a ton of time to work but were able to get some incredible photos. And, I’m sure there will be some of you will be interested to know which of the final images were shot with the Phase and which were photographed with the Nikon D810. I won’t give it away but one of the final images is from the Phase and the rest from the D810.
