Shoot More Often

One thing you’ll hear over and over again is shoot as often as you can. I’ll be the first to admit I’m not the best at this and usually wait till I have a concrete concept and a model/athlete lined up. But, you don’t have to always be shooting the exact same thing over and over again. You’ll get stagnant and bored. You have to constantly challenge yourself. There are a lot of photographers out there who just wait for the golden hours and that’s the only time they’ll go out and shoot. I, once again, will admit that I’ve

Late Night Lights

One thing I love about Portland is when the fog rolls in and gives the whole city an eerie feel. Last night, I was downtown around midnight and this skyscraper was lighting up the whole area. It was a perfect little spot to take a few shots. This photo has no post processing and was done “all in camera”. However, it’s not using the traditional iPhone cam but the Hipstamatic App. It’s definitely my favorite app by far. I used the John S Lens with Blanko film and no flash. Japanese Waterfall

This awesome little waterfall is located about 10 minutes away from my home in Portland. My sister and brother-in-law were in town for a day so we decided to go explore the Rose and Japanese Garden. Maybe we hit the Rose Garden (not the basketball arena) at the wrong time but the Japanese Garden was way more impressive. I suggest you check it out if you are ever in town. This photo was pretty simple. I shot it with the stock camera app that cones with all iPhones. On the post processing side of things, I used a program called

St. John’s Bridge

Yesterday was a pretty nice day up here in Portland so I wanted to go out and shoot something. I had seen a couple photos of this bridge before and so I though I’d go and get my own shot of it. This is by no means a unique vantage point. In fact, pretty much ever photo I’ve seen of this bridge has been taken in about the exact same spot. However, I knew I could do something different in the post processing end of things. It was pretty simple in terms of what I did after the fact.

Welcome to Portland

I’ve been up in Portland for a month but really haven’t had time to go out and do some serious shooting (and I guess I still haven’t). I was sitting and noticed an awesome sunset outside my window so as quickly as I could, I set up my equipment but unfortunately I just missed all the beautiful colors in the cloud. Actually, it looks like I pretty much missed the cloud as well. However, I still thought this was a great capture of the building across the street.¬†Hopefully before long, I’ll get out and explore the area a little bit
