It’s been a couple months since my last post as my commercial work really picked up over the last couple months. There was a period of about a month where I was dealing with production needs for a big 7-day shoot that was spread out over a couple weeks. It involved scouting locations, castings and a lot of other things that need to happen on a larger production. That pushed my editing on this Golf project that I’ve been wanting to post for a while. After wrapping up that big project (which hopefully I’ll be able to show the images from at the beginning of next year) I jumped right back into a project with the University of Oregon. When all was said and done with photographing the athletes and editing, another month was gone. Suffice to say this post has been a long time coming.

Golf is a sport that I’ve always loved. I started playing back when I was around 5-years old. I would play a couple rounds with my grandpa every year (sometimes going out and getting a round in before school). I played up until college where Track dominated my time and I put the clubs down for a while. Unfortunately, earlier this year my grandpa passed away. I decided then it was time to pick the clubs back up and start playing again.

However, at the same time, I realized it was kind of strange that I had been a sports photographer for about 5 or 6 years and have never shot anything golf related (well besides a single image for the TRAJECTORY project). So, I enlisted my golfing partner and friend to go out early one morning and get some photos. This is a good start to the portfolio but definitely something I want to photograph more of. The great thing about golf is it really plays into the two aspects of photography that I love most. Working with Athletes and being in beautiful locations. Here are the images from this shoot but be on the lookout for more golf images in the future!
